EVENT INFORMATION
The 18th & Vine Arts Festival is a three-day celebration of Black art, music, fashion, food, film, and culture held in the heart of Kansas City's historic 18th & Vine Jazz District.
Hosted by the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation, the festival creates opportunities for artists, entrepreneurs, food vendors, performers, and community organizations while honoring the cultural legacy of one of America's most significant Black cultural districts.
Thousands of attendees gather each year to experience live entertainment, visual arts, fashion showcases, food experiences, cultural programming, and community engagement.
We invite food trucks from across the region to be part of this growing cultural destination event.

FOOD TRUCK PARTICIPATION FEES
We are offering the following participation options:
Friday Only
$125
Saturday Only
$225
Sunday Only
$125
Full Weekend Package
$400
Save $75 by participating all three days.
Only selected food truck vendors will receive final acceptance and placement information.
There is no application fee to apply.
FOOD TRUCK INFORMATION
BEVERAGE SALES
Food trucks may sell non-alcoholic beverages.
All beverages and pricing must be included on the menu submitted with the application.
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
All food truck vendors must provide:
• Certificate of Liability Insurance
• Minimum Coverage: $1,000,000
Proof of insurance must be submitted before final approval.
ELECTRICITY
Electric needs must not exceed:
• 110 Volts
• 15 Amps
Additional electrical requirements must be requested during the application process.
Food trucks may utilize quiet generators.
Additional electrical access may require an additional fee.
All electrical cords must:
• Be properly secured
• Be taped down
• Include protective coverings when crossing walkways
FIRE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Food trucks using deep fryers must provide:
• Current K-Type Fire Extinguisher
• Current Service Tags
Food trucks not using fryers must provide:
• One 2A:20BC Fire Extinguisher
• One K-Rated Fire Extinguisher
Propane Regulations:
• Maximum of two LP gas containers
• Maximum combined water capacity of 25 gallons
HEALTH PERMITS
All food trucks must obtain:
Temporary Food Service Establishment Permit
Permit approval must be completed prior to festival setup.
All food vendors must display:
• Food Handler Certification
• Required Health Department Documentation
Copies must be submitted to festival staff before setup.
MENU APPROVAL
Food trucks may only sell items approved within their submitted application.
Menu additions or changes require written approval from festival management.
Approved menu pricing must remain consistent unless modifications are approved in writing.
PHOTOGRAPHY & PROMOTION
By participating, vendors agree that:
• Festival photography and video may be used for marketing purposes
• Images may appear in future festival promotions
• Media produced by the festival remains property of the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation
PROPANE TANKS
Food trucks utilizing propane must provide proper safety equipment and secure all tanks according to applicable regulations.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Food trucks operate at their own risk.
All vendors must comply with:
• Local Health Codes
• Fire Codes
• Safety Regulations
• Parking Regulations
The festival reserves the right to suspend operations of any vendor failing to meet safety, sanitation, or operational requirements.
SPACE ASSIGNMENTS
Food truck placement is determined by festival management.
Food trucks must provide all equipment necessary for operations.
A-frame signs may not extend more than three feet from the truck.
Food vendors utilizing fryers must operate from approved food trucks.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Food trucks are responsible for:
• Removing all trash
• Removing all grease
• Removing all gray water
• Maintaining a clean operating area
No grease disposal will be provided.
No water service will be provided.
WEATHER POLICY
The festival takes place rain or shine.
Food trucks are expected to operate during all scheduled festival hours.
Vendors are responsible for preparing equipment and setups for wind, rain, and changing weather conditions.
No refunds will be issued due to weather.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT
All vendors operate as independent contractors.
Participation does not create an employer-employee relationship with the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation.
Vendors are solely responsible for:
• Taxes
• Payroll
• Licenses
• Permits
• Insurance
• Compliance Requirements
