A Voice That Shaped the Airwaves. A Presence That Shaped a City.

The 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation is proud to honor Sean Tyler as the 2026 Icon Living Award recipient — recognizing more than two decades of influence across radio, music, mentorship, and Kansas City’s entertainment culture.

Sean Tyler is one of the most recognizable voices in Kansas City.

For years, listeners have started their mornings with him. Artists have trusted his guidance. Audiences have felt his consistency.

He represents longevity — and leadership.

A Voice Across Generations

Sean’s career includes hosting across several major Kansas City stations, including Hot 103 Jamz (KPRS) and 107.3 KC’s R&B and Hip Hop (KMJK-FM), where he most recently co-hosted The Morning Wake Up With Sean Tyler & Tasha Mack.

His voice has been part of daily life in Kansas City — connecting communities, breaking records, interviewing artists, and amplifying culture.

But his work extends beyond the microphone.

Artist. Mentor. Developer.

Sean Tyler is also an accomplished vocalist whose sound blends R&B, gospel, and contemporary influences. Through his music platform, SeanTylerMusic, he continues to release projects that showcase his artistry and growth.

Behind the scenes, he has worked in artist management and development — including experience with Kansas City’s own Strange Music, Inc.

His industry knowledge has made him a trusted mentor for emerging artists. He helps refine stage presence, brand identity, and business understanding — ensuring the next generation of creatives are prepared not only to perform, but to sustain.

Why the Icon Living Award Matters

The Icon Living Award is reserved for individuals who are not only respected for past contributions — but whose influence continues today.
